In this monthly study group, participants will select the overall themes and books: whether it's a book on living with cancer, a poet's exploration of life, a
guide to integrating the arts and healing, or a novel with themes of strength and survival. We will share opinions, experiences, and hope in a supportive, facilitated environment that encourages input from all. A single bookmay be explored over several sessions, as we work to apply its wisdom to our own lives. Feel free to bring your lunch to enjoy during our lively conversations.
Our book this month is The Body Keeps Score: Brain, Mind, & Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel A. van der Kolk.

Our programs are open to the community, and tailored to meet the needs of people affected by cancer. Classes and workshops are free or low cost on a pay-as-you-can basis, ensuring that our programs are accessible to everyone.

About Kiersten Gallagher
Kiersten Gallagher is an avid reader and has been studying wellness for over three decades. It was five years ago, when Kiersten was introduced to teaching people who are affected by cancer, that she landed within a community that was looking for meaning and hope in an unfair world. Working with an extraordinary group of people has given Kiersten a new perspective, deep gratitude every day, and hope that healing is possible even when the odds feel like they are against you. Kiersten strives to facilitate a comfortable, healing environment that helps participants gain new insight into themselves and the world we live in through reading, reflection, and discussion.
