Providing care for a family member or friend with cancer is an act of love, but it can take a toll on the caregiver. Come for a little TLC of your own at Smith Center’s first Caregiver Rejuvenation Retreat. You’ll learn how to take care of yourself while taking care of another, share your journey with other caregivers in a supportive environment, experience a relaxing and rejuvenating form of yoga, and gets recipes and tips on how to prepare simple but delicious and healthy meals. We’ll also feed you breakfast and lunch!
The cost of the program is $30, due after we have received your application.

About Julia Rowland
Julia Rowland, PhD, is a long-time clinician, researcher and teacher in the area of the psychosocial aspects of cancer. Dr. Rowland helped develop and was the first Director of the Post-Treatment Resource Program at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, an initiative that provides a full range of non-medical services to patients and their families after the end of treatment. Since moving to Washington, DC, Dr. Rowland has served as the founding Director of the Psycho-Oncology Program at Georgetown University and the Lombardi Cancer Center and as the first full-time Director of the Office of Cancer Survivorship at the National Cancer Institute.
About Corrin Bennett
Corrin Bennett, MS, IYTA, has been a practitioner and educator of creative body, mind, spirit integration since the early 1970s. She holds an MS degree in dance/movement psychotherapy and teacher certifications in various aspects of yoga. She has presented seminars and workshops throughout the US and Europe for organizations and educational institutions including the University of Saarbrucken, American Cancer Society, Kaiser Permanente, and American Medical Association's Women Physicians Summit. Corrin has a private practice in Washington, DC, and specializes in Stress Management, Yoga/Movement Therapy, and Life Consulting for supporting others on their life journey.
About Leslie Edsall
Leslie is the Director and Founder of Trifecta Wellness which has offered nutrition and wellness services for more than 15 years. A severe hip injury led Leslie to nutrition school after she couldn’t exercise for two years. In nutrition school, she learned about food allergies, how they related to join pain, skin issues, mood swings, energy levels and digestion and found her passion for nutrition and health coaching. She received training as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition's Health Coach Training Program, studying more than 100 dietary theories and practical lifestyle management techniques. Among other things, Leslie is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and a Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT), teaching mindful classes and nutrition workshops in the DC area.
