Experience the simple pleasure of moving to the sounds of beautiful music in the company of others. Through gentle, flowing and life-affirming movements, people of every age and stage of life will enjoy the opportunity for play, expression, exploration, and stress-release.
Our programs are open to the community, and tailored to meet the needs of people affected by cancer. Classes and workshops are free or low cost on a pay-as-you-can basis, ensuring that our programs are accessible to everyone.

About Cynthia Word
Cynthia Word is the Founder and Artistic Director of Word Dance. Cynthia began her Modern Dance training at the University of Illinois and later received her Master in Fine Arts from The George Washington University, where she served on the teaching faculty. Word Dance Theater creates Isadora Duncan-based dance/theater productions, blending compelling story, live music, and the dances of Isadora Duncan to create theatrical productions that are powerfully engaging to audiences. Her most recent creation, co-produced with the Department of Performing Arts at Georgetown University, is the award-winning Once Wild: Isadora in Russia, which had its world premiere May 2013 at the Davis Performing Arts Center, Washington DC.
