FreeFlow Dance-Movement ClassJoin us at Smith Center this spring to experience the simple joy of moving. Come to one, or better yet, all three classes. Enjoy the benefits of this gentle, flowing and life-affirming approach to your body, mind, and spirit. Based on principles of breath, basic movement, and a connection to nature, this class offers plenty of opportunity for play, expression, exploration, and stress-release for people of every age and stage of life.

About Cynthia Word
Cynthia Word is the Founder and Artistic Director of Word Dance. Cynthia began her Modern Dance training at the University of Illinois and later received her Master in Fine Arts from The George Washington University, where she served on the teaching faculty. Word Dance Theater creates Isadora Duncan-based dance/theater productions, blending compelling story, live music, and the dances of Isadora Duncan to create theatrical productions that are powerfully engaging to audiences. Her most recent creation, co-produced with the Department of Performing Arts at Georgetown University, is the award-winning Once Wild: Isadora in Russia, which had its world premiere May 2013 at the Davis Performing Arts Center, Washington DC.

For those in need — Free programs and Scholarship Assistance
We aim to offer free and low-cost programs, affordable to anyone who would like to participate. If you would like to attend a program, but find the cost to be a barrier, fill out a scholarship request form or email Full or partial scholarship assistance is available for most programs.

For those who can give — Donations
As a nonprofit, we rely on your support to keep our programs going. Registration fees cover less than half of what it costs to provide our programs. If you're able to give a little extra (or a lot), it will help ensure that all who are in need of Smith Center's resources will receive them.
