Our hair affects our mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual selves. Caring for our hair can be healing and transformative, especially during illness and recovery. Transformative and powerful, this special Loving Your Hair With Natural Care workshop is for all women, particularly women of color cancer survivors, their caregivers, and friends.
Ms. Leatherwood’s ground-breaking workshops provide women of color with essential tools, product and nutritional advice to grow and maintain beautiful, healthy hair.
Beyond hair basics, Ms. Leatherwood teaches the principles of complete hair care pre- and post-chemotherapy treatments. Fun and engaging, attendees will learn about loving and caring for textured hair as a holistic process, one that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit.

Felicia Leatherwood is an internationally renowned celebrity stylist and pioneer in the Natural Hair Movement. Facilitating workshops in the US, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Germany, and the Caribbean, Ms. Leatherwood teaches women of color how to nurture, grow, and love their hair. Ms. Leatherwood earned her cosmetology degree from Santa Monica Cosmetology School. Ms. Leatherwood spent her early career working for the prestigious Millennium Hair Salon in Los Angeles. She later transitioned into a personal stylist, primarily working in the television and film industry. Some of her celebrity clients include Jill Scott, Sanaa Lathan, Will Smith, Terrence Howard, Anthony Anderson, Arsenio Hall, and Kim Cole. Most recently, she styled Jill Scott’s hair for the NAACP Image Awards. She also styled the cast of Why Did I Get Married for their red carpet and world premieres. She has appeared in People, Essence, Black Hair, Black Enterprise, and InStyle magazines. Also, she has been featured on popular blogs such as Afrobella, New Naturalist, and Black Girl Long Hair. Most recently, she has been featured expert guest on the Dr. Drew’s Life Changers Show and interviewed for the online news magazine show Shine for Yahoo.
