With Carole O'Toole
- Tuesday, October 8, 6:30pm
Our three-part series on “navigating cancer” is designed to offer resources for newly diagnosed patients and those in the early post-treatment stages by empowering them to enhance their own role as they navigate their way through the cancer experience. The series is based on Smith Center’s groundbreaking Integrative Patient Navigation program and training for cancer care.
The experience of cancer is universally described as overwhelming. Charting Your Journey will explore the concepts of navigation and integrative cancer care, and the importance of learning to self-navigate. Carole will offer skills and tools to help you make choices and support yourself through the experience of cancer. She will help you access the “wise guide” within yourself and explain how that inner wisdom translates into practical uses that help you set your course, discussing such questions as:
- How do we make choices when we don't know where to start?
- How do we advocate for ourselves?
- What can I do to support my healing process?
This program will contain experiential stress reduction techniques and time for Q&A. Caregivers are welcome.
