Sleep and Relaxation Workshop

This program will also serve as the Young Adult Cancer Survivors meetup for September.

Sleep. It's one of the most important and natural elements of healing, but getting enough can be challenging. Do you: Have trouble falling asleep? Wake during the night and have trouble getting back to sleep? Feel unrested even after a full night's sleep?

This class has three main components:

  • We will explore small adjustments you can make to your favorite sleep positions to facilitate easy breathing and relaxed muscles throughout the night.
  • There is a Sleep-Wake continuum. We'll discuss things you can do in the evenings to move yourself toward the Sleep end of the spectrum so that you arrive in bed ready for sleep.
  • Small movements synchronized with breath can help you enter a calm here and now in which breathing and being embodied are experienced as sensual and delicious. Learn relaxation techniques you can use anytime, anywhere, as well as simple and effective sleep induction techniques to help you fall asleep quickly and improve the quality of your rest.

Relax your body, calm your mind, lull yourself to sleep.

Scholarships & Giving Back

For those in need — Free programs and Scholarship Assistance
We aim to offer free and low-cost programs, affordable to anyone who would like to participate. If you would like to attend a program, but find the cost to be a barrier, fill out a scholarship request form or email programs@smithcenter.org. Full or partial scholarship assistance is available for most programs.

For those who can give — Donations
As a nonprofit, we rely on your support to keep our programs going. Registration fees cover less than half of what it costs to provide our programs. If you're able to give a little extra (or a lot), it will help ensure that all who are in need of Smith Center's resources will receive them.

It’s easy to add a secure donation during your registration process at the top of the "Checkout" page.  We thank you for your support!
