With Juliette Tahar
- Saturday, October 19, 10am-noon
Get ready for fall and winter when delicious, warming soups can take center stage in your meal planning. Join Juliette Tahar, natural foods chef, who will share some of her secrets (and recipes) for great broths – the base of all great soups. Juliette will also share basic techniques of soup-making, including vegetable-only soups; main course soups, that incorporate grains, veggies and a source of protein; and a bean soup. The recipes are flexible, vegan and gluten-free, and can be adapted to taste and season.
The menu will feature Creamed Vegetable Soup, a soothing soup that can be made with a variety of vegetables; Miso Ginger Quinoa Soup enriched with kombu seaweed for extra taste and minerals and served with pan-seared tofu strips; and a Fall Bean Soup that you can make with your favorite beans!

*Please Note: Every individual’s needs are unique. We aim to offer a variety of health-promoting options for each individual to consider, but do not prescribe the specific dietary content of any program for anyone.
Our programs are tailored to the needs of people affected by cancer, but we welcome anyone who would like to attend.
Scholarships & Giving Back
For those in need — Free programs and Scholarship Assistance
We aim to offer free and low-cost programs, affordable to anyone who would like to participate. If you would like to attend a program, but find the cost to be a barrier, fill out a scholarship request form or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Full or partial scholarship assistance is available for most programs.
For those who can give — Donations
As a nonprofit, we rely on your support to keep our programs going. Registration fees cover less than half of what it costs to provide our programs. If you're able to give a little extra (or a lot), it will help ensure that all who are in need of Smith Center's resources will receive them.
It’s easy to add a secure donation during your registration process at the top of the "Checkout" page. We thank you for your support!
