YACS: Healthy, Heart-Warming Dishes

With Ebeth Johnson, CNFC & Healthy Eating Specialist at Whole Foods Market P Street

- Tuesday, February 5, 7-8:30pm

YACS Healthy Cooking ClassJoin the YACS for a cooking demonstration with Healthy Eating Specialist Ebeth Johnson.

Preparing a meal for yourself or someone else can be an act of deep caring. Food nourishes us and brings us together. In this class, Chef Ebeth will demonstrate how to prepare delicious, heart-warming dishes for cold winter evenings. Participants can watch as she makes them and then sample the recipes.

Young Adult Cancer Survivors (YACS) of Smith Center is a group that addresses the unique challenges and concerns of young adults in their 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s who are living with cancer. The group provides a forum for fellowship and meetings with creative and relevant topics ranging from integrative health and fertility choices to coping strategies, relationship issues, and everything in between. Our meet-ups bring YACS  together with those who share a common bond and want to have fun, support each other, and learn along the way.

Scholarships & Giving Back

For those in need — Free programs and Scholarship Assistance
We aim to offer free and low-cost programs, affordable to anyone who would like to participate. If you would like to attend a program, but find the cost to be a barrier, fill out a scholarship request form or emailprograms@smithcenter.org. Full or partial scholarship assistance is available for most programs.

For those who can give — Donations
As a nonprofit, we rely on your support to keep our programs going. Registration fees cover less than half of what it costs to provide our programs. If you're able to give a little extra (or a lot), it will help ensure that all who are in need of Smith Center's resources will receive them.

It’s easy to add a secure donation during your registration process at the top of the "Checkout" page.  We thank you for your support!
