June 22, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
in partnership with the First Descents DC/Baltimore Tributary
Location: Theodore Roosevelt Island
Join other young adult cancer survivors for a morning of hiking on Theodore Roosevelt Island, in the Potomac River. The island is a memorial and wilderness preserve with plenty of flora and fauna and views of Georgetown and Arlington. The hike is suitable for all levels and will end with a bring your own picnic lunch – so pack something delicious (we’ll have a cooler to store it). Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes, athletic pants, and non-cotton layers. Bring plenty of water and a hat and sunglasses for added sun protection.
The event will run until approximately 12:00pm (we plan to finish the hike around 11am and enjoy a picnic lunch for an hour). For those who want to hang out a little longer, we will share more fun times at a coffee shop or restaurant nearby.
Information on where to meet will be shared after registration.
