About Lisa Edwards

Lisa Edwards is a Client Advisor at WMS Partners, a fee-only, fiduciary advisor focused on high net worth individuals and families.  Prior to joining WMS Partners, Lisa was the Manager of Financial Analysis at the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (“Farmer Mac”) in Washington, DC.  While at Farmer Mac, Lisa led the team responsible for quantification of the corporation’s interest rate risk profile and other market exposures.

Lisa entered the world of finance primarily as a result of her passion. Prior to her time with Farmer Mac, Lisa was a chemical process engineer for FMC Corporation – a multi-billion-dollar specialty chemical company.  While at FMC, Lisa served as manufacturing manager — operating multiple production lines and supervising a large staff.  During this time, Lisa developed an interest in business operations, and made a switch to FMC’s finance division – first, as a financial analyst of the U.S. Operations units of FMC’s Agricultural Products Group; and then as a senior business analyst of FMC’s global agricultural business areas.

Ms. Edwards graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Economics.  She received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland and is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Certified Treasury Professional® (CTP) designations.  In 2017, Lisa received a Certificate of Financial Planning from Georgetown University and passed the Certified Financial Planner™ exam.

Lisa is passionate about promoting financial planning and wealth management.  She has conducted workshops around the region to increase financial literacy and to provide people with the tools needed for better financial health.
