SUMMARY:Room for Grief
DESCRIPTION:Room for Grief: A Monthly Space for Loss From Bereavement\n\n\n\n“Each person’s grief is as unique as their fingerprint. But what everyone has in common is that no matter how they grieve\, they share a need for their grief to be witnessed.” \n\n\n\n-David Kessler \n\n\n\nIf you’ve lost a loved one\, a healing circle for those in grief is an opportunity to share what’s on your heart and mind\, to listen\, and be listened to deeply and generously. \n\n\n\nOur healing circles are a safe and supportive space to walk with each other through these times.  Each circle is a blend of sharing and silence\, compassion and curiosity. Our agreements ensure acceptance and confidentiality. We honor our own unique paths to healing and respect the choices of others. \n\n\n\nThis is an ongoing circle. Therefore\, you are welcome to join at any time. \n\n\n\nPlease Note: Healing circles are groups of peers who support one another through deep listening and compassion. Circle participants abide by agreements\, including agreements around confidentiality. The volunteers who host healing circles do not provide medical or psychotherapeutic advice or treatment. Participation in a healing circle does not replace the care provided by a qualified healthcare professional. \n\n\n\nThis circle meets on the third Monday of the month.  \n\n\n\nIn order to register and receive the Zoom link\, visit the <Healing Circles Global Registration Page> \n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Grief Team Healing Circle Host \, \n Laqwa Matilpi\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer

SUMMARY:The Village: A Black Cancer Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This group offers a culturally affirming space specifically for Black individuals impacted by any type of cancer. Research consistently demonstrates disparities in cancer outcomes and access to supportive care among Black communities. Beyond these disparities\, many Black patients navigate cancer while carrying the expectations of strength\, caregiving responsibilities\, historical mistrust of healthcare systems\, concerns surrounding identity and appearance\, and experiences that are often not centered within traditional support spaces. Join us in this supportive space where we can show up as ourselves and support one another. \n\n\n\nThis group is held vitually on Zoom and is open to \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \, Support Group Facilitator \n Cyerra Wheeler\, LGSW\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer

SUMMARY:Survivorship Support Group
DESCRIPTION:This group is designed for cancer survivors who have completed their primary cancer treatment(s) and are now either post-treatment or on maintenance medication (such as hormonal therapy). Cancer can be emotionally and physically draining — many times we aren’t able to fully process the experience until after treatment is over and we are trying to get back to our “normal” lives. The struggle and expectation to find “normal” again can also be an overwhelming process. This group is a space where you can talk openly about these issues and process the trauma of cancer with other survivors. \n\n\n\nThe group meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm ET on Zoom. This group is held in partnership with Cancer Support Community DC. To register\, please click here. \n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Support Group Facilitator \, \n Lashondra Love\, LGSW\, LMSW\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizer
