Join us for “Creative Collective”, an inspiring creative ‘break’ from the noise of day-to-day. Denise Feldman, a local mixed-media artist and cancer thriver, hosts this quarterly gathering in (virtual) community sharing her casual, creative approach to relaxing expression. In each quarterly workshop Denise will share a new project and demonstrate the processes she uses to create, including her tips and techniques for using creativity as a healing practice. No experience needed, and all are welcome!
Workshop #2: Wonky Mandalas
Mandalas mean “circle” in Sanskrit and are geometric shapes that are a common design among many cultures around the world. Meant to convey the idea of ‘the universe” and circle of life, mandalas remind us that we are all connected to each other and nature.
Join Denise as she demonstrates her non-traditional mandala-making process. Using watercolor paint, paper and a black pen, she’ll share her meditative, playful process for hand-drawing free-form mandalas and encourage participants to ‘play along’. The process is calming and meditative, resulting in a ‘wonky’ and personalized mandala that is totally imperfect! Wonky mandalas make great cards or bookmarks, decorative additions to a journal, and personal gifts for family and friends.
