Mental Fitness

November 18 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Mental Fitness

Living with or beyond cancer can bring uncertainty, emotional stress, and an ongoing inner dialogue about how we “should” be coping. In this 60-minute mental fitness webinar, we will explore practical tools from Positive Intelligence to help you recognize and shift the mental patterns that drain your energy.

Many of us carry an inner critic, known as the Judge, along with other mental habits called saboteurs—patterns like Hyper Achiever, People Pleaser, Avoider, or Hyper Vigilant. These patterns often begin as protective strengths developed earlier in life. While they may have once helped us succeed, stay safe, or care for others, they can also become overactive during stressful seasons such as a cancer diagnosis or survivorship.

During this interactive session, we will:

  • Learn how the Judge and saboteurs influence our thoughts, emotions, and reactions
  • Understand how these patterns show up when navigating cancer, uncertainty, and recovery
  • Practice simple mental fitness exercises (PQ reps) to calm the mind and reconnect with the body
  • Explore the Sage perspective—a mindset rooted in curiosity, compassion, and wise action
  • Reflect together on how to shift from self-criticism to supportive inner dialogue

The session begins with a short guided presence practice to help you move out of the mind and into the body—an essential step in building emotional awareness and resilience.

Through gentle reflection and small group discussion, participants will explore how their personal saboteurs show up in daily life and learn practical steps to shift toward the Sage mindset, where challenges can be approached with clarity, self-compassion, and strength.

This workshop is especially supportive for individuals who are living with cancer, in treatment, or navigating life after diagnosis, offering tools for managing stress, inner pressure, and emotional overwhelm.

Mental fitness is not about eliminating difficult thoughts—it is about learning which voice inside you to follow.

What you’ll gain:

  • Tools to recognize and quiet the inner critic
  • Practices to reduce stress, anxiety, and mental overwhelm
  • Greater self-compassion and emotional resilience
  • Simple daily techniques to strengthen your mental fitness

Prior to the webinar, participants will be invited to complete a short private survey (5–7 minutes) to identify their most active saboteurs. This helps tailor the session to what will support you most.
