Opening Reception for Allies in Healing: Collaborative Community Arts

The Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery at the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts is pleased to exhibit Allies in Healing. This exhibition will open on Sunday, November 16th, with an Opening Reception from 2-4 pm. This event is free and open to the public, with light refreshments served.

Allies in Healing

Collaborative Community Arts, a project of the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts in partnership with Uniting US, commemorates the end of the Vietnam War and explores its lasting impact on the veterans who served and faced life-changing challenges.

The exhibition Allies in Healing will honor the power of art as a pathway to healing, wellness, and community for Vietnam veterans. It will be hosted at the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery, whose mission is to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being through life-affirming creative practices. The project is presented in collaboration with Uniting US, an organization dedicated to empowering veterans, service members, and their families to heal and connect through art.

Together, we aim to elevate the creative voices of veterans and invite audiences to find inspiration in their powerful artistic expressions and stories of resilience.
