in partnership with the First Descents DC/Baltimore Tributary

Location: Patapsco Valley State Park, MARYLAND

The event will run until approximately 1:00pm (we plan to finish the hike around Noon and enjoy a picnic lunch for an hour).

Join other young adult cancer survivors for a morning of hiking at Patapsco Valley State Park, just south of Baltimore in Howard County. This scenic hike features a waterfall, a few small stream crossings, and views of Patapsco River. The hike is suitable for all levels and will end with a bring your own picnic lunch – so pack something delicious (we’ll have a cooler to store it). Plan to wear comfortable walking shoes, athletic pants, and non-cotton layers. Bring plenty of water and a hat and sunglasses for added sun protection. For those who want to hang out a little longer, we will share more fun times at a coffee shop or restaurant nearby. Information on where to meet will be shared after registration.

This program is co-hosted by the First Descents DC/Baltimore Tributary. First Descents is a recognized leader in outdoor experiential programming. Through outdoor adventure, skills development, and local adventure communities, FD improves the long-term survivorship of young adults impacted by cancer. The DC/Baltimore Trib provides continuous support and the opportunity for connection and year-round adventure experiences at the local level.
