Smith Center Recognized During World Cancer Support Month

Lisa Simms Booth of Smith Center with Roxanne Strouk of Good Morning Washington for World Cancer Month.

We’re honored to share our good news! Smith Center has been recognized as an essential community organization during World Cancer Support Month by Good Morning Washington at ABC7.

On camera, our Executive Director Lisa Simms Booth talked about the many ways Smith Center supports our community: hosting support groups for people who have been diagnosed with cancer and for caregivers, providing wellness classes for mind and body, and leading classes to explore healing through arts.

To learn more, watch the Good Morning Washington segment, or explore our support groups and programs. We welcome everyone in need of support, connection, and healing.

In the words of one of our many program participants, “The groups are simply amazing. They are set up to be the safest of spaces. They allowed me to feel a part of things, to laugh, and to open myself up to healing in a deeper way. I feel like the Smith Center was essential to my recovery.”

We are proud to support our community. We know that everyone has been touched by cancer. If you’re interested in finding out how to partner with Smith Center, or if you have access to funding or the ability to donate, please contact us so we can start the conversation.
